Why Lord Ganesha is immersed in water on Ganesh Chaturthi?

As we all know that Ganesh Chaturthi is falling on 2nd September 2019. It is one of the most important festivals of India especially for the Maharashtra people.

Maharashtra is the state known as the state of Lord Ganesha and you will see the charm and energy of the people of Maharashtra during Ganesh Chaturthi.

Lord Ganesha is considered to be the God of remover of obstacles or Vignaharta and the God of Wisdom. His head is made from elephant’s head it has a deep story if we see the mythology.

Lord Ganesha is also said to be worshiped first before any God and also before doing any auspicious work as it brings happiness and wisdom in one’s life.

Why Lord Ganesha is immersed into the water?

So it has many answers but we will go with the most common and the most important one.

Ganesh Puja is done for 11 continuous days and it is said that after 11 days of worship, Lord ganesha which is made from clay is immersed into the water by the people.

It is said that Lord ganesha will take all the obstacles with him and go back to their home in heaven. This is a ritual that is carried out from years and Indian people find it very auspicious.

But people now a days are making the statue of Lord ganesha with POP and other chemicals which is polluting the rivers and ocean. Lord ganesha statue should only be made from the turmeric or the clay that is not harmful for the water bodies and do not pollute rivers with chemicals.

Lord Ganesha takes away all the problems, worries of the people after the 10 days of holy pooja.

Some also depicts it as every life that has a life has an exit in life and all have to leave this world someday.
