“It was immediately quite magnetic,” recalls Hanane El Moutii of the moment she met her husband Marc Ange during a business meeting in Los Angeles at Château Marmont. El Moutii – founder and CEO of Éclat Public Relations, a company specializing in public relations for Design and lifestyle brands— and Marc Ange, Designer and artist at the head of Studio Ange, both have careers in the world of richness design, so it was only a matter of time before the job But it immediately became clear that their relationship was not just for business.
“We haven’t seen each other for about six months after that day. Work has brought us together again, and that’s it! We never really dated – we fell madly in love and moved in together almost immediately,” says El Moutii. They now refer to each other as soulmates.
It was three years after, when the couple was traveling, that Marc proposed to Ange. “We were on a business trip to India — if you can call visiting Aman properties in India a job- when Marc Ange surprised me with a trip to the Maldives and proposed to me on a private island,” explains El Moutii.
“We both cried with joy, jumped into the sea and spent the day sunbathing while fantasizing about the wedding. The day after the day we said Yes, we canceled the rest of our trip and returned to the United States because of the pandemic. During the months of isolation, we fell in love even more, decided to run away to the Utah desert and exchanged vows by smoking sage in the beautiful Amangiri.”
After escaping to the Canyons of the American Southwest and building their home in Los Angeles with their son Leone, El Moutii and Marc Ange began planning their wedding celebrations, ending up for a destination weekend in Morocco-a place linked to El Moutii’s roots-in a hotel that the couple had been frequenting for years.
“I was born in a small village in Northern Italy and my roots are in Morocco. I spent my childhood between two worlds, I spent the school year in Italy and I spent the summer under the Moroccan sun,” says El Moutii.
